What we check on your lot
How many accessible stalls your total stall count requires, and how many of those must be van-accessible.
Whether access aisles are marked and left clear, whether the wheelchair symbol is stenciled in the stall, and whether the sign is mounted so it can be seen from the front of the vehicle, not hidden behind a parked car.
Whether the route from the accessible stalls to your entrances is firm, stable, sloped within limits, and free of obstacles, and whether curb ramps are in place where the route crosses a curb.
Signage and markings
Accessible stalls need the right sign, and Texas requires accessible parking markings to be visible and maintained. Faded symbols, missing signs, and aisles used as extra parking are the most common problems we find.
Restriping is the time to fix it
If you're already having the lot sealcoated or restriped, adding or correcting accessible stalls costs very little. Doing it later means a separate visit, and possibly repainting lines that were in the wrong place.
When we re-layout a lot, we'll show you the stall count before and after so you can see what the accessible spaces cost you in total parking.
Why it's worth doing now
Accessible parking is one of the easiest things for someone to notice and complain about, and it's one of the cheapest things for you to fix. We'll mark what's off, give you a quote, and get the lot right in the same visit as your other striping.
